NISSAN CARS

Most of us know that Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., also known as Nissan Motors or more commonly Nissan is a Japanese automobile manufacturer. Nissan cars were marketed under the Datsun brand till 1983. Nissan's main offices are located in the Ginza area of Chuu-ku, Tokyo but it would relocate to Yokohama, Kanagawa by 2010.

Nissan is the second largest car company in Japan after Toyota and is a force to reckon with in the U.S. What is more, The Nissan VQ engines of V6 configuration have been listed in the World's 10 Best Engines continuously since the award's inception 12 years ago. It is going to launch a new generation VQ series engine on Infiniti G35, the future Skyline GT-R and the 2007 Nissan 350Z. Nissan is also going to launch 2.5VQ 4-cylinder engine that would be installed in Altima and perhaps in the coming SPEC-V 2007 Sentra.

And a little trivia-it is pronounced "NEE-sahn" in the U.S. while it is pronounced "NIH-ssan" in the U.K. And in Japan it is pronounced "NIH-sun." Nissan has been credited with production of extensive range of vehicles such as cars and trucks and specially sports cars. It started export on a major basis from 1950's. Amongst Nissan sports cars, Datsun Fairlady 1500, 1600, and 2000 Roadsters, the Z-car and the Skyline GT-R are famous. The year 1985 saw the creation of NISMO for R&D. Recently Nissan cars have come out with Nissan Navara 175 hp.

Nissan automobiles were sold under the Datsun brand in most of its export markets till 1982. But from 1989, it is being sold as luxury models under the Infiniti brand in North America. Nissan collaborates with other Japanese manufacturers like Suzuki and Mitsubishi to sell a small range of keicars. Nissan cars don’t actually develop these cars. Nissan cars have also jointly developed domestic car models with companies like Mazda, Subaru, Suzuki, and Isuzu.

Where China is concerned, Nissan cars produce in collaboration with Dongfeng Motor Group. One such model is the 2006 Nissan Livina Geniss. It is one of the best examples of medium sized cars and it also made its debut world wide at the Guangzhou International Motor Show.
